CEOs of companies existed in 1939, and did before. 1939 would have been the time of the great depression, World War 2, fascism, and Batman didn’t go after them, he went after the people who needed work and took the last chance they had.

Bruce Wayne is just a form of Bill Gates. Donates millions to charity, good causes, hospitals, fighting diseases, but he still has lots of more money than when he did before all this “charity”. The difference is that Gates doesn’t put on a mask and go punch the poor of Seattle.

If you’re adult, talk like one. If you’re a parent, communicate and act like one.

Sure a 5 year old doesn’t have the vocabulary and mental fortitude to understand or explain the concept.

But if you have a child, you raise them for 5 years, I assume you care about them. You can explain “Can you help mommy set the table?” or “Can you pass daddy the plates?”

You don’t need to explain the process of your work and the commute and other things. But if you just explained things to your children, they’ll understand. When my parents did, I got to understood the task and why they wanted it. When my mother or my boss barked orders without any understanding why or how, I was left more confused.

And trust me, I worked retail, most people are fine, some people are real pieces of work. I still have some horror stories of customers, some frequent, some once or twice. But what got me out of every single one, was talking it out. From a dude who had literally half of his skull and brain missing, to my co-workers, to the average customer I forgot by the end of my shift.

If someone is unaware of piracy: Tell them.

If someone is aware of piracy and doesn’t care: “I don’t really know, I just got it off of a torrent site.”

If someone is aware of piracy and cares too much for a company they don’t work for: You can ignore them.

Compare that to Google, Microsoft, any other public big tech, I start to just question why I’m not living in the forest as a new member of a Bigfoot extended family.

It’s fine to pirate every piece of media. From books, to movies, to music, to textbooks, to newspapers, to my own comments online.

Information and art is meant to be shared and enjoyed. Pay walling a distraction from reality does nothing but make reality worse.

• I think reading about lost media is interesting, especially when its some important event, or the search for it remains fun. Lost Doctor Who episodes are wild. Lost images of the first display of television is weird to consider, when anyone here has never been without television. I understand I’m probably weird on this however.
• I think approachable and digestible is a good, but my mother really enjoyed true crime, and the two choices were “Direct weekly documentary” like a Cold Case Files, or something that reads as like its water cooler talk about this week’s new drama on Fx. Like the hosts really enjoyed reading about a double-murder. I also understand I’m probably pretty weird on this one.

Except DefunctLand and Expedition Theme Park, those two are really nice.

Mate I’ve forgotten the concept of eating food, I’ve misplaced my phone that I was holding 30 seconds ago, I’ve not been able to recall every card in any of my magic the gathering decks from memory ever since I started playing about 10 years ago.

I’ve forgotten what I was talking about mid sentence because I had to get a sip of water. You can forget about anything with ADHD, just different people remember things differently. I can recall my partner’s favorite colors and hobbies, I can barely recall my own favorite media I saw.

Large scale wise, Doctors without Borders, World Health Organization, and the organizations that help fight for/track sex trafficked people to liberate them.

And within the US (I’m sure there’s others, I’m a yank so my understanding of how things in Germany/Canada/China/South Africa go is often poor) there’s the Electric Frontier Foundation, Meals on Wheels, Planned Parenthood, American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, and a lot more that help most citizens and biological beings get the right to, life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness that isn’t actually given by any government.

Also Child’s Play and Make a Wish Foundation are pretty good for sick children to get some levity in a harsh childhood. I usually chip in some online donations/sale credits to Child’s Play and EFF so that they have entertainment when stuck in a hospital, and more digital rights for when they get out of it.

That is impressive! Sometimes you need a right figure to improve messaging.

TL;DR: The Satanic Temple sues you for telling publicly known truths about itself, and then takes money that could go to actual help for abortion rights.

It’s not inherently bad, it “fails” the Unix Philosophy of “Do one thing and do it well” but since Linux’s kernel is:

• Unix-like, not Unix
• Fails this philosophy, as it does more than one thing but does all of it pretty well
• systemd is just a bundle of tools that do one thing and do it well under one package, like Linux’s kernel

It used to be a mess, but that’s solved. The biggest reason to avoid systemd is mainly user preference, not anything malicious. 90% of current distros use systemd as its easier for the maintainers and package programmers to build for the general than each package and each distro having their own methods of how to do an init system and other tasks.

How Debian and Arch and Gentoo and Slackware and other big distros worked was different, and the maintainers of those packages had to know “Debian’s way” and not a general way that most places accept. Systemd actually solved the Too Many Standards! issue.

I’ve never really seen a big argument against systemd, but maybe I’ve just not heard it.

I meant exchanging the credits for the books, not books for books. Apologies if that came off as unclear.

And a lot of the online ads on podcasts and shows constantly state “it’s all yours to keep as long as you want” so my brother and I, both thought it was to all, not just the books. It’s why we were okay with paying for another month to allow more credits to stack up, as not every book was 1 credit.
