As it’s most often seen on news sites - where scrolling too far gives you another article - a handful of reasons.

One: there are frequently still links (think “about us” / “contact us” kind of pages) in the footer that you might need to access, which you can invariably now never reach, because as soon as they’re in view they’re replaced by more content.

Two: as the parent poster so accurately put it, “fucking with the browser history”. It becomes entirely indeterminate whether the back button now returns to the previous site, or just goes back by one piece of content.

Three: the new content is almost certainly unrelated to the page I started on, and not of any interest to me.

The vision: this, apparently.

The reality: watching dust accumulate in places you can’t possibly clean.

You definitely want something a bit thicker / padded though, anything that’s just straight straps seems to get wiggled out of. I can see how the dog harness you’ve got (likely designed with a chihuahua in mind, where neck straps have to be avoided) is a bit too much fabric for a cat’s comfort though.

This said, the biggest expression of displeasure I got to the harness was the cats flopping over and pretending their back legs didn’t work.

Once outside mine seems to very much be a “sniffing the flowers” type of cat, just wanders around near the house taking in the new sights and smells, chewing on a bit of grass, etc. Being an indoor cat, even walking on grass seems to be an experience he doesn’t 100% vibe with. At least I’ve not had to retrieve him out of a tree, I guess?

I can’t confirm or deny Ireland as the other poster says, but Iceland is a LHD country so the photo would have to be flipped if it was.

Rubbish trucks are a good example of this, often being drivable from either side (at least where I am). That allows the driver to better see their colleagues and bins on the roadside while driving in the suburbs, but switch to the regular position for driving to and from a landfill site.

If you’re happy to accept at least another non-American suggestion, this sauce from here in New Zealand is very much Tabasco-esque (being a thin-textured, barrel-aged sauce made with chilis and vinegar), but in my opinion tastes a lot better due to containing a higher proportion of chilis.

Unfortunately a great many of them use Sodastream’s gas cylinders - after their patent expired and anyone could build a compatible unit - so you might not be able to escape them getting your money when buying CO2 refills, if there isn’t another brand of gas cylinder available where you shop.

Sodastream have released a new cylinder design (with a bayonet rather than screw fitting), presumably to again attempt to kill off the market for home refilling from a larger CO2 cylinder, or use in other brands of machines.

All of that said, I do like my Aarke machine.

Yes they indeed might, but - even ignoring delay introduced from digital electronics - you’ve now lost all sense of where that sound is coming from, because you’re listening to the sound of one microphone being played through one speaker.

While I have a personal general rule against backing electronics on Kickstarter and would likely wait for it to be available at retail, I wouldn’t necessarily immediately discount this one.

It’s probably worth noting - mentioned in Jeff Geerling’s video - they had a MOQ of 1500 on the metal case, which likely forced them to be significantly further through the process than a lot of Kickstarters are at launch.

Sometimes there’s only a single PCIe lane though. And as you say, that’s not a x2 but explicitly two x1s.

No WiFi card needs the bandwidth (yet), at PCIe 3 speeds you’ve got around 7.8Gbps for a x1, and PCIe 4 double that.

The Coral comes in a “dual” version for exactly this reason (https://coral.ai/products/m2-accelerator-dual-edgetpu/) you just have to be very sure the slot you’re putting it in is actually delivering two PCIe connections.

Also for bonus fun, most WiFi/BT cards use the PCIe interface for the WiFi and USB for the Bluetooth.
