For a second there I thought you were advocating for fluorescent green or monochromatic CRT screens of old.
3·4 months agoThat’s a neat AI artifact of associative or transitive probabilities. Typewriters -> keyboards -> split keyboards -> split typewriters? I’d like to see some modern PC manufacture decorum through a steampunk filter.
1·4 months agoI’m surprised I couldn’t yet find a dummy HDMI plug to spoof a 4K@120Hz capable display. All the ones I’ve found thus far only support 120Hz at 1080p, and never any HDR support at all. I have an OLED android device with 2K screen and matching refresh rate, but the without a physical monitor to stream capturing from. Emulating such display resolutions and colored depths also seems just as formidably challenging.
Aside from my PC, the newest device I own is only a snapdragon 8 gen 1 soc device, which I think sadly doesn’t have a hardware AV1 decider. Definitely a consideration for later upgrades.
Any recommendations for fine tuning Sunshine to match Nvidia’s local Gamestream? I haven’t had much luck in getting Sunshine to run as smoothly at 4K 120Hz HDR 150Mbps via LAN as Nvidia’s deprecated streaming server software, so have to slow to migrate over.

31·4 months agoI wonder how health insurance providers would then find ways of carving out new coverage exemptions for treatment to upper lips.
Also, no one like to sit with their back to the walkway corridor, with other guests and staff constantly squeezing past and behind your seat.
This feels similar to reading further product reviews or customer comments between the time of purchase payment and shipped delivery for an online shopping. Anyone else sometimes do this?
With the release of a new LTS, I think I’ll finally catch on a little sooner this year, just as soon as my Ubuntu based distro upgrades to v24.04.
Did anyone else growing up have a vinyl record player as a kid? My dad brought his out of storage one year because it had a number of old Christmas albums. So over the Christmas holiday, I’d rotate through the entire collection, yet some of the records we’re much shorter like singles, or much older in production precision, so they came in smaller diameters and took faster feed rates. When switching back from the smaller to the larger diameters, I did forget to turn down the rotary speed, and so we’d inevitably start listening to old Christmas carols and ballards as if they were being sung by the Chipmunks.
Oh, nice tip! Any good way of emulating that on a mobile Android keyboard? Or do you just copy and paste a lot? Perhaps this could be done with a custom autocorrect dictionary injury?

There was a fairly big 40K lore channel on YouTube with a rather good AI impersonation of David Attenborough’s voice and narration style/scripting. However, I just went to check it, yet it must have recently gotten hit with a DMCA and taken down. A shame really. Though I never got into 40K lore before, or the 40K franchise in general, I am a big fan of David Attenborough, and so that ended up really drawing me in to a new literary universe. However, it was a big mistake by the YouTube creator to use the name and photo likeness of Attenborough in the branding, video titles, and thumbnail art on the channel. I think without pushing that line, the AI voice with a clear disclosure could have kept the channel under the legal radar.

The four eyed fish trivolously gives it away, cuz that ain’t no flounder. Also, what cat in its right mind would be stealing a scavenged kill without it tightly secured in its jaws while on the run, let alone clinging a fish to its chest like an anthropomorphic cartoon?
The wide angle composition is kind of cool though, but I prefer photos of real cats.

What? I’m using neon with Nvidia’s v550 driver right now. I’ll try switching switching to v555 driver as linked in OP via apt once it available through Nvidia’s (compatible) debian repos for Ubuntu.
