Built a new rig last Xmas. Got a 7800xt sapphire. It just works. Cyberpunk on ultra 100+ fps (no rt, only turn it on for screenshots basic).

Eh, just grab one from Walmart or office depot. At about 5$ it’s effectively disposable. A mouse pad is something I have a hard time dropping more than 10 on. They all end up stained, corner bending etc.

Maybe it’s bad luck, but half the time the instructions are physically impossible to follow on certain steps.

I guess. I tried everything within reason to play it. VLC, mpv, windows media player etc. all with various degrees of failure. Even went down a rabbit hole of trying codecs from websites that looked frozen in time from the late 90’s, as it was an old cam system.

Happened to me a few months ago. Had a ticket for our District Attorney office, trying to playback a security camera footage from a parking lot or something. It would open, but, the person that was supposed to be seen would show up for a few frames and glitch out.

Turns out the cam system it came from uses some very proprietary codec. So the footage was effectively useless without their special sauce player/codec

So, algorithms. Pass.

Not always. It’s largely going to depend on the game. GE is a tweaked version fork. I’ve had some games run fine with either version. But I’ve also had a mix of some running better with GE, some without.

I forget the name, but there’s a GUI tool now (check your package manger) that makes the setup really easy. Though the manual setup is about as complicated as creating a folder and pasting the GE file in it and restart steam.

The chaos has finally ended about an hour ago. Thankful for that XD
