Hi folks and BOY was this a wild year so far!

I was able to use my lemmy frontend today for the first time since a couple weeks. I had to really trim down the possibility to access it since bots were power crawling it.

Let’s buckle up and work our way through the Instance news! We’re gonna slowly zoom out instead of zooming in. Let me know if that works for you.

Anti-Corporate community

Our Anti Corporate Community is seeing massive influx (by lemmy standards). We’re at over 700 subscribers as of today. Not bad for a small community on a tiny private instance! Keep posting and cross posting fitting content on there. I bet a lot of folks feel heard by our feed!

Federating with “extremist” instances now

The dam has broken! Due to the world shifting more towards fascist insanity, we’re moving towards the radical left. Our approach of freedom and equality isn’t exactly popular these days but we’re still seeing some good. Feel free to check out our communities list and see which communities are on here. Don’t freak out when you see labels. Check out alternative ideas to the known bad system.

Lemmy

Lemmy is seeing a steady influx of new people since antisocial media seems to be upping the anti consumer stance more and more. This does lead to conflicts, bots and other pro capitalist and anti progressive stances here and there. It is okay to discuss things with people of another opinion. Everyone needs to check their limits though. If you feel disrespected, ridiculed or attacked for seeing the capitalist system for the failure that it is, you should make use of the report button and or the block button. We’re banning people who show hostile intent towards other users or towards the question what should come after capitalism.

Fediverse

The fediverse as a whole is also expanding. Bluesky seems to also be briding into our little abode, for better or for worse. I’m personally not a fan of billionaire social media, federated or not. I dont see a need to have polish at the expense of hierarchy. I cant really speak to the threads situation since we have never federated with them. Loops looks very good so far. Its not my personal cup of tea as a format but it absolutely works great from a usability and tech standpoint. friendica does work well too but it’s not for me either since I left the facebook ecosystem a looong time ago. I hope the fedi stays on this course and keeps to its core values.

Politics

Germany

For those who dont know, our instance is located in germany. Thats why we’re mostly affected by german news. Since the lobbyist chancellor merz has been elected, the situation went from precarious to outright frightening. Germany is steering hard right and starting to break international law by shutting out refugees and deporting integrated families. We also break our commitment towards people who worked for the german state in war regions and are being hunted there. They are now being left alone, most likely to die.

World

Well, what should I say? Last Time it was “Yikes”. This time it is just taking each day as it arrives. The capitalist system has been gruesome since its invention but most people were able to overlook it through the shiny inventions. Now that the inventions get sparser and the seams become loose, you can look through the cracks and the sight is horrendous. We need to let go of capitalism. It is not working. It hasnt been working much for the majority of the world, ever. But now it stops working even for those and its apparent that we need to change.

Outlook

We’re gonna keep posting as long as possible. It is not unlikely that we will see state repression at some point. If that happens I will try to inform you folks if I still can. Please join unions and vote as radical left as you can/dare.

Who are we?

GiftedMC (fka Gifted-Minecraft) is a very diverse group of people from different countries with common interests. We like to play voxelgames, a lot of us are neurodivergent and we have both, a minecraft and a voxelibre server, as well as many fediverse instances.

We’re a private instance of a small group of collaborators and friends. If you think about joining our instance, please contact our admin on the contact page of our instance. We do ask for a small recurring donation (starting from 1$ a week) in turn since hosting an instance isnt cheap and more users means more work, electricity and storage required.
