If someone here doesn’t want to use GNU at all, Plan9 is probably the next best thing. Is there anyone here that actually uses it day to day?
I mean if I didn’t want to use GNU at all I would just run FreeBSD. Been a solid OS for me since the mid 2000’s.
I am out of the loop: What is the discussion/problem with GNU?
Historically the concerns have been that the GPL is less “free” than the BSD license.
This draws parallels with tolerance paradox.

True. Don’t know why I didn’t think of that. I’m assuming the BSDs don’t use GNU’s C compiler?
FreeBSD has used the LLVM Clang compiler for over 10 years
Thanks
I’d love to read a blog of someone using it as their daily driver, I wonder how doable that is
I remember reading about Plan9 around 2000 or so. I thought it was pretty damn cool. I still do, I just can’t imagine using it as their main.
If I had to guess, it’d be fewer than 5 worldwide and all of them will be doing it as an experiment and/or for a laugh.
Nope, Plan9 is too old - I run Hurd.
(Yes, this is a joke)
