Decades is far from infinite
Decades is far from infinite
Idk about infinite, if they stop getting updates they will eventually get phased out and if you can’t download the application it’s also dead. All that aside the sun is going to go super nova eventually.
Also a lot of people don’t want to self host. I doubt you self host your own Lemmy instance for instance.
To me it looks like they think of the Internet like corporations do and needing growth to justify investment. I think that’s fair reasoning for sites that are profit driven but Lemmy isn’t.
Sure but when I’m not on my network a VPN doing that is good.
But some VPNs do provide you a little protection on things you might click on. Ublock and not being a dummy will get you around most of that use but for general users it is more safe.
There are far more uses for a VPN. For instance if I want to access my NAS while outside my home.
Because it’s like old forums where the first person to comment gets engagement
I worked in supporting those and I had an easier time helping people with windows phones. 🤢
But they’re talking mainstream support and windows is much more popular.
Well um actually a Linux workstation would be GNU/Linux and chromeos is only the Linux kernel. /s
I’m not going to pay for Spotify either. Music should be a federated platform where you can purchase music directly from the artist and not pay massive corporations like Spotify, Google, or Apple for the luxury of doing nothing.
I just can’t get over the walled garden and shit notifications. Like, fuck Google but why can’t I own my device.
Some VPNs advertise they stop malware so I get why they say that but you’re right.
Looks like mostly nachos
Sues corning for making all that glass that transmitted the piracy.
Some of the most unruly people I’ve ever known are women. I think women just emphasize better and with media from a connection to those who are in or made the media.
This initialization took me way too long
With the Linux community I think it’s canon to say the socks stay on. From the socks that are adorned with sandals to the socks that go above the knee.
Even renters have rights. If you’re buying something like this you likely have no rights in the matter and the license you agreed to made sure of it.
I agree with you here but I wouldn’t want to pay for a host for some FOSS project and I wouldn’t host that on my own IP either.
