Man, if you think the current executives are bad…
…now imagine removing human emotion entirely. If an AI runs a company, it may reach the conclusion the best way to maximize quarterly profits is to harvest all of their employees organs. Child labor is the cheapest. Russia pays the most for userdata. Etc…
I would bet good money the attack is backed by people who want their old content offline, but dont want to been viewed in public as the bad guys.
As an economist, I agree.
I found I had to block a large number of communities from my feed that were very narrow minded. Once I did some diligent editing, however, Lemmy has become my daily browse and I’m happy with the change. I still use reddit for some of the niche communities that don’t have a counterpart here, but the larger topics (news, memes, technology) are well covered and open to discourse.
Ironically, some cats DO glow in the dark:
You know it was not a real party because that white floor is still white. No, that dog got drunk by himself.
A piece of paper folded in my pocketand a travel sized pen…
Looney tunes needs live ones to train its new AI character
I miss Timely oohhh soo much
If you play on PC, the game gets really great with mods…in vanilla its good, but gets repetitive.
Id recommend getting the game with the DLCs on sale, play through vanilla at first, then when it starts to get stale, dive into the rabbit hole.
You can buy an “endoscopic camera” online for about $15USD (i use them for musical instrument repair)
I imagine once could easily be used in a situation like this
If my experience with the game was an accurate account, quite a few natural disasters.
Im interested in an answer to this too…I have been wearing Eccos for years, but recently they too have fallen victum to QoverQ (Quarterly profits over Quality).
It took me more than a few minutes to realize that this is posted on Lemmy and not in one of the small subreddits I still follow.
As a loooong time battletech fan I am SO happy with the resurgence this franchise is seeing, and that PGI has actually listened to and involved fans in the creation and maintenance of their products.
For those who aren’t familiar, Mechwarrior Online, originally relased in 2013, was in end-of-life maintenance mode when PGI (the dev company) decided to effectively hand control of the game over to a small group of dedicated fans. That group, now called “The Cauldron” have brought in a slew of new content and balance updates, even new game modes.
This, coupled with an AMAZING game released in 2018by Harebrained Schemes, as well as some really bad moves by Games Workshop, has lead to major resurgence in the Battletech franchise.
For everyone else who remembers playing Mechwarrior 2 that came with a joystick back in 199whatever, I think this will be a great next chaoter in the story!
Could I make a device that expands the middle range of the temperature scale, so I can have more choices than just “arctic” and “mcdonalds coffee”?
Well according to the 1993 classic, “SimCity 2000,” fusion power becomes available to build in the year 2050. Since I have no other source that provides an exact date of viability, this remians the most reliable prediction we have.
Did you used to be an adventurer like me?
Wouldn’t it require the same amount of energy to get airborn / propaget as any other powered aircraft? Because, like, physics…
Strong dissagree. I am barely functional pre-caffeine in the early morning. A Keurig is about as much mental energy as I can muster to operate. It is a godsend to me on day I work early.
