Would upvote for the news. Will downvote for the picture.

I think that’s actually the goal. If they can get a single core OS working on all their devices, that cuts down a lot on the difficulty of things like application development and security patches.
Arch Linux user here to say… Ubuntu’s fine, man. Love all the derivatives that can take advantage of the core Ubuntu system (e.g., Mint, which I’ve installed for family members).
I love Arch. I use it all the time. I will not inflict it on any family members.
If you count light outside of the human visible spectrum, it’s bright pretty much everywhere. Like, getting away from light requires specially constructed facilities.
Your right.
I mean, it looks okay and I’m glad to see competition, but yeah… Snoozer of an article with very little that makes me want to format and give it a go.
No reason to resist. They’re nifty little things, and if you don’t have heavy computing needs for what you want to do with one, their performance is really good.
I’m not even sure they’re really tankies anymore (or the meaning of the word is changing). Actual tankies still ostensibly support communism, but all too often, it’s blatantly apparent that they’re actually right-wing totalitarians cosplaying.
Thank goodness.
I’m reminded of a story I read a while back - not sure where - about how if you let a Nazi into your bar, you eventually end up running a Nazi bar. I think the same applies to online forums. You let Nazis overrun a forum, everyone else leaves, and eventually you might as well just be running Stormfront.
I have one computer in my house that has been running the same installation of Arch for eight years. I occasionally upgrade hardware components as needed, and will eventually take a full disk image and transfer it to an entirely new system once I’ve reached the limit of how much I can ship-of-Theseus it.
Never had a single problem with it in all that time.
