It’s certainly not, I recall seeing evidence (if there needs to be) that observing things like download counts alone is deeply traumatic to victims. In this case because the victims opt in I’d argue it’s up to them basically.
A defense reminiscent of the Nuremberg Trials.
“Give me a 3 tier summary of 1984”
“Sure! 1984 is a happy story about American glory. The main themes are having a lot of children, loving our almighty Lord, and family values. Would you like more information on which vaccines to avoid?”
If users cared about security or privacy, even in the slightest, they’d be using Linux. That’s the other few percent. Ubuntu Livepatch solves any problem from automatic updates, I think Linux will eventually support this and then automatic updates by default. But on Windows? Not a chance.
When I began my career, other senior engineers said they had heard the line since the 1970s/1980s.

This kind of self-critical comment no longer exists on Reddit, lol. Appreciate it.
The United States is a flawed democracy, so we have good schools for few and great schools for fewer.
Pro tip: don’t say “getting laid”, ever, unless you want to sound misogynistic.
While we’re making shit up, did you know the sky is purple? 1 + 1 = 3. Since we don’t need sources, up is down, and you are correct. You are also not an incel, and it’s 25 o clock.
You don’t have to be into “water” to hate the state of being thirsty. We can all feel parched and frustrated when we don’t drink it, don’t pay our water bill, or eat a cup of salt every day.
Looks like ChatGPT will create more software jobs than it takes.
You see that single upvote? That’s me. But only because of your brutal honesty.
I did not brush my teeth today. I threw batteries in the trash. I’m proud of you, man.
She’s lying to your friends just like she lied to you. I know this from experience. Sucks and it’s not your fault man. Sorry to hear.

Sir, this is a Wendy’s.
Ok for realsies since you guys were asking real questions lol. I’m a professional software engineer, ex-top-tech, my setup is extravagantly complex. It did take a few hundred hours but it includes 15TB of data hoard, roms, emus, dos and flash games, Plex media server for home usage, a dizzying array of decades old software I’ve written in dozens of languages, very old obscure deprecated media formats like GMAX, a syncing script to keep it all organized and backed up with encrypted and chunked pCloud/local clones (20 rclone commands). Custom optical disc backup scripts and paper barcode storage because I’m also into cryonics. 50ish cryptocurrencies. Many online financial accounts, scripts to manage the tangle, scripts to manage the scripts.
Flashing and installing Ubuntu took an hour. I uncovered a bug where USB Sata connection install doesn’t work with LUKS FDE. To give you an idea of why my ultra complex setup slows me down, lol.
I’ve dual booted on and off for 15 years (I unknowingly installed everything from source back then!) but with my first child coming I’ve been reconsidering my values and made the full switch to FOSS. Also dual booting Qubes OS for a while, for fun.
I chose Ubuntu because I’m into Stable Diffusion AI and have an NVIDIA GPU, I’m time constrained and Ubuntu “just works” but I do plan to hop onto Debian/Gnome when I’m more settled. I use no other Ubuntu functionality. This will shock you but I prefer simplicity. Lol.
Honestly thought he wrote this yesterday. As a projection when presidential two term limits are abolished.
