Yeah it’s this. We don’t eat the shells/outsides of lobster (at least most probably don’t). I don’t want to eat exoskeleton.
I’ll write something here later probably. In the meantime, hi to whoever’s reading this I hope you get a chance to enjoy something kind today :)

Windows as a usable OS.
TL;DR (compiled from additional research as well): Professional level designer Jos van Laar recreates mission “Scuttling the U-529” from Medal of Honor: Allied Assault in Unreal Engine 5 as part of his portfolio. There is no download available for the level, but Nathan Silvers, the original level designer for the game had high praise - though is labeled as “this user” in the linked article.
Here’s another article with more explanation. Maybe, just maybe it’ll inspire a proper remaster, ideally with proper compensation for the artists.
Cool news to learn today though! /gen
I’m mostly the same way.
Opioids make me physically ill and do not interact with my system well at all so I avoid them as much as I possibly can. I take it as a blessing that it puts me away from addiction risk, but it sucks when the rare Tylenol (acetaminophen/paracetamol) doesn’t cut it as my asthma makes NSAIDs a no-go.
Still, I’ll take swearing-pain over dizziness and breathing issues. Been tempted to take a knife to the problem areas myself though.
There’s a special place in hell for CSS flexboxes
The open floor plan was the beginning of our demise.
Almighty Profit Motive™ forbid we proles find any semblance of joy in our lives and - gasp - interact with the physical world around us in any meaningful and engaged way!
No, we must be deprived of all dopamine outside of our designated corporate brainrot centers.

The only constants in this world are death, taxes, and leftist theory being incredibly verbose (said with love).
Solid summary though, thank you for sharing. It reads fairly accessibly not unlike Graeber and Wengrow’s Dawn of Everything.
I’m of the same mind.
I don’t necessarily believe in “supernatural”/“paranormal” type stuff but I am of the mind that a good chunk of the information we process is unconscious, and those “bad gut feelings” sometimes are a means of our bodies reacting to said information.
Now, it could also be anxiety, mental health crisis symptoms etc. but those are also technically reactions to things. Assessing what is actually being reacted to and if it’s worth changing entire plans over is the important part.

I’m just an Internet stranger but want to say I’m very proud of you (and you should be of yourself).
Taking the step to prioritize your own self and healing can be so hard but it’s so worth it. You’ve got so much love in your heart and you deserve to pour some of that into you. Best of luck 🩵

!awwnverts@lemmy.world would be another great place to put this!
I thought that was VLC
It’s wonderful.
I do miss being able to send stuff from my PC to my iPhone though, but that’s Apple’s fault.
I like this place, plus it’s a small enough platform that I thought seeing my comments with a “blank” avi probably gets annoying after a while ¯\(ツ)/¯
Time to erase all debt 👀
If I could afford to pirate games, it wouldn’t be indie games.
Indie devs are usually small and made up of equally(ish) poor people just trying to make a living. That money puts food on their table and keeps the studio running.
That said, I know some devs look at it as free advertising. Doesn’t make it great, but it’s a different perspective at least.
Not entirely identical, but I know what you mean.
I was on long release dex combo (Adderall) for a while and it gave me the “drive” like you mentioned. But it screwed with my sleep and I had to get away from it since I reacted badly to the fillers in generics. I also found certain formulations wore off fast and left me with the infamous “ADHD crash” and made my afternoons and nights miserable. This is down to individual brain chemistry, though.
On a long release Ritalin now and my brain is quiet too. I don’t necessarily get the “reward” from starting or finishing tasks and have to push myself to initiate but once the process is started I’m okay.
For comparison unmedicated the whole thing is like walking through glass barefoot and soaking my feet in lemon juice after.
You might be able to get a dual script, depending on where you live. Like have Dex first thing in the AM, then short acting Ritalin later in the day to keep even. Only way to know is to ask your psych.
