I guess for the fast food orders there could be some insights with enough volume and associated data (time, frequency, location.)

If someone suddenly started ordering loads or boycotted that one that decided homophobia was the way to go or something you could sense political leaning.

You could get a sense of allergies or vegetarianism.

      You may figure out payday

Could maybe get a feel for menstrual cycles

Could figure out someone’s route home

      Family size maybe.

      Probably more idk.

If you’re not in data science, you should get into data science. These are good insights.

    Fully agree.

Exes: often successful, sometimes overbearing, emotionally unstable, pretty smart

Music: highly political, between sarcastic, cynical and revolutionary, all over the place in styles, mostly fast paced, different languages

Now pass your judgement if you like. :)

In the 70s, 80s, and 90s, companies would call homes to ask what was in their fridge, cupboard, etc.

Could I really know what you believe in and what flavour of upright (or immoral, but I believe people were made “good” so why expect differently?) you are by having a passing knowledge of your exes? I guess if I asked your exes everything about you, maybe, but that assumes they’re unbiased sources of information and, c’mon, lol. Or what your political (a derivation of ethics) views are? Or what your triggers and coping mechanisms are? I mean, we could get along no matter what kind of music you listen to/fast food you order, but other stuff like being a violent neo Nazi would evidently bring some friction to our friendship!

I doubt you’re as vacuous as you think (certainly more than a collection of products you consume, right?), don’t sell yourself short. 😉

      • Fast food is cheap. It’s part of the reason why we have an obesity epidemic in the US: it’s cheaper to feed a family at McDonalds than buy fresh groceries and cook. And, yes, it’s far more convenient.

But if they had money, they wouldn’t be eating fast food for convenience; they could get Uber Eats every day from a local restaurant. Even a cheap local restaurant. I suppose going whole-hog and eating every meal at fast food joints would prevent you from ever having to shop and keep food in the house, but even so many people at my last job got food delivered for lunch from local restaurants. That’s more convenient than running out to grab Burger King.
