Sundance films like their cocaine, but we see actors snorting a cocaine-like substance up their noses all the time in the movies. It’s obviously not r

Red wine just doesn’t look like red wine on film - so they use white instead.

Jonah Hill was hospitalized with bronchitis when he was shooting Wolfs of Wallstreet. Because of all the vitamin B he had to snort during filming.

Generally frowned upon during live filming.

You can arrive on set high as you like though as long as the stuff on camera is fake.

There have been a very few cases with real cannabis and i presume many with alcohol.

You could chalk this up to them keeping it secret but they often talk openly about cocaine around the set it be bizarre that using it on scene would not leak.

Imagine being a director trying to do retakes with coked up actors that insist they just made the performance of their lives in this scene too.

I have no industry knowledge, but one of my very early exposures to TV Tropes was witnessing someone claim that one of the few instances of a big name actor getting drunk on screen was in Jaws.

They usually have to do many takes of one scene.
While I don’t doubt that the real stuff is easier to find on the set than the fake, it’s just not practical.

Much less fake sniffing than fake what they’re sniffing. Surely there has to be a better way, considering actors already fake eat/sip.
